Metro Competition
The Baltimore Washington Eagles Football Club organises an intra-club competion each year. This competition is referred to as Metro Footy.
The club divides it’s players geopgraphicly into 3 independent teams. Those teams are based in:
- Baltimore
- Washington DC
- Northern Virgina
The Metro competiton is played accross fields in Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Baltimore. Each Metro game is played on a smaller field as teams are usually made up of between 12-16 players. Apart from a smaller playing field, all other rules are the same as a standard game of Australian Rules Football.
Metro games are a great way to learn the rules, develop skills and familiarise yourself with the game. The games are for all skill levels, all ages and by both males and females.
Each year the Metro competion is a keenly fought contest between the Baltimore Bogans, Washington Generals and the NoVa Hams. The 2012 competition was won by the Baltimore Bogans in a hotly contested game at Bocek Park Baltimore, just defeating the Washington Generals.
